Ceramic Fiber Products
Ceramic fiber is a lightweight insulating product. It has low thermal mass which means that it does not retain heat, low thermal conductivity and is an extremely effective insulation material.
Its high thermal shock resistance make it suitable for applications where traditional refractories cannot be used. So called Refractory Ceramic Fiber is made from high purity alumino-silicate materials. Ceramic fiber is produced by melting these products in an electric arc furnace, a stream is poured and cooled to form the fiber strands from which the ceramic fiber products are produced.
Ceramic fiber is available in many forms and densities including:
- Ceramic Fiber Blanket
- Ceramic Fiber Modules
- Ceramic Fiber Paper
- Ceramic Fiber Board
- Textiles rope and braid
With a temperature range of 1260°C for standard and 1400°C for Hot Face and 1430°C for Zirconia blanket most applications can be easily accommodated.
Applications for these materials include:
- Furnace linings, Hot Face, intermediate and back up
- Flexible pipe insulation
- Expansion joints
- Fire protection
- Kiln Linings
- Packing for high temperatures
